The world is drifting towards homemade, natural and chemical free products for their skin. The biggest reason being, how lab based products have negative long term side effects on skin. Often, people choose those products expecting it to make their skin better, but it ends up being much worse due to it’s toxicity.
So I am going to share a few DIY homemade face masks that will have your skin naturally glowing in no time. These recipes have been passed on in my family and have been used by my grand mothers.


TURMERIC POWDER AND MALAI/MILK CREAM
Malai is an Indian term for milk cream, a type of thick cream made out of milk. It’s made by heating whole, non-homogenized milk and pulling out the extract from the top of the surface of the milk. It has a layer of coagulated proteins and can be skimmed off the top. Using it with turmeric which is a natural anti-inflammatory is known to give you:
- Glowing skin
- Protects against aging
- Brightens face


GRAM FLOUR AND YOGHURT
Gram flour is also known as besan in India, is a great exfoliating agent that scrubs off any dead cells and dirt on the face. It is one of the most excellent deep pore cleansing agents. Applying it for 10-20 mins and washing it off with water is the way to go. Traditionally it is used as a body and face cleanser. Mixing it with Yoghurt helps in obtaining:
- Brightens the skin
- Fights acne
- Is great for oily skin


LEMON AND HONEY
Lemon contains alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), which help exfoliating the skin. Honey, on the other hand is full of antioxidants that helps in fixing your skin and gives a glowing look. Lemon can be sensitive to some kinds of skin so it is a good idea to test it on a small area of your skin before applying it. Use cold water to rinse this off and keep it on for about 15-20 mins. The key benefits are:
- Hydration and clearing acne
- Natural cleanser
- Reduces pimples and inflammation


CHOCOLATE BANANA AND HONEY
Who wouldn’t enjoy some chocolate on the face? Cocoa powder contains antioxidants, which are very beneficial in fighting inflammation. When blended with banana, it moisturizes your skin. Honey, the third in the trio is a great toner and brightens skin. Keep this face pack on for 20 mins and wash it off with cold water.

- Keeps skin moisturized and soft


EGG YOLK, OATMEAL AND HONEY
This breakfast-themed mask and is a perfect combination for those with oily skin. It to create a perfect matte effect on the skin. The honey is an add on to this soothing mix that helps in brightening the skin. The biggest benefits are:
- Brightens skin
- Fights oily skin
- Tightens skin
