HOW TO STYLE A PONYTAIL WITH HAIR EXTENSIONS

A couple of days ago, I thought of doing something different with my hair and giving myself a new look. Through this time in quarantine, I even had to give myself a trim and that turned out quite well. However, this time I tried using hair extensions to make myself a nice ponytail. I have had these extensions for a while, and have used it a few times and I thought it was a great idea to a VLOG about this.

Watch the video below to get started!

The main takeaway here is:

STEP ONE: BRUSH YOUR HAIR

Getting rid of any existing tangles in the natural hair is the first step towards making sure the extensions blend well.

STEP TWO: MAKE A PONYTAIL

The second step is making a ponytail, make sure to make this ponytail nice and stuff as it will be holding the hair extensions. Another pointer here is to decide whether you want a high or low pony based on how long or short you want the extensions.

STEP THREE: BRUSH THE EXTENSIONS

Maintaining extensions can be hard if they get tangled all the time, so make sure to securely store it. Brushing the extensions a couple of times can be an excellent way to make sure it’s good to go.

sTEP FOUR: usING THE CLIP

The clip needs to be used to securely position the extension on the ponytail. This can vary based on the product, but for the most part would look similar to this. Use it to place it and tuck it right on the top of the ponytail.

STEP FIVE: ATTACH THE EXTENSIONS ONTO THE PONYTAIL USING THE CLIP

Most extensions come with a clip or a band to securely fasten it onto your hair. This kind of specialized pony tail extension is designed to wrap around the existing pony. Slide the clip into the top of the ponytail and use the extending strand to wrap it around. You can even use a clip to safely position it or simply tuck it under the ponytail.

STEP SIX: BLENDING YOUR NATURAL HAIR WITH THE EXTENSIONS

The last step here is simply blending your hair amidst the extensions to make it flow more naturally. There are more alternate ways in which you can attach the extensions and this is just one way to do so. If the extensions are way smaller in size, you can section your natural hair to accommodate the extensions.

That’s all, as simple as that!

SO THE MAIN TAKEAWAY IS TO REMEMBER TO :

-Choose hair extensions that match the tone of your hair

-Choosing a length that is right for you

-Choosing extensions that are specialized for pony-tails.
